Specification of Breathing Aparatus SCBA 300 bar
Breathing apparatus is a breathing apparatus used by rescue officers, fire fighters, or others to provide air support in an IDLH atmosphere.
IDLH stands for Immediately dangerous to life or health, which according to NIOSH is exposure to airborne contaminants that may cause immediate or indirect death or permanent health side effects.
The formula for the length of time to use the SCBA is as follows:
Tube volume (Liter) x Pressure (Bar): 40L/m (air requirement)
example: 6.8L x 300bar : 40L = 51min
However, it would be better if the results were reduced by 20 minutes for the safe number of estimated usage and removing the SCBA each took 10 minutes.
So the safe time of use is 31 minutes for a 6.8L tube capacity.
